On Thursday my school had calf and lamb day, I did really well. I got 2nd leading, 2nd in rearing, and also reserve champion for rearing, then I got 4th in dairy type. It was such bad weather, but everybody who took an animal was in rain coasts and jackets.
Sorry about the last post I have been very busy, our calf and lamb day was on the 22nd of October.

On Thursday the 15th, my school (Opunake primary) participated in the Shake Out. The alarms went off at 9:15am and our whole school did the earthquake drill. Then we had to go out to the field. This photo is just use our class reenacting what happened.

It was great to be back at school again. I didn't get to see much of my friends in the holidays, so it great to see them. I'm so happy to be back to school and get back into things. I'm looking forward to the end of this term, not just because the year is done. Because the end of year concert.

Reading for Enjoyment: You need to be reading at home regularly. This could be reading a novel, the newspaper, some articles on a website, or a magazine. Please tick the box for each night that you do this, and record the name of the text you’ve been reading.
National shake out day is on this week!Find out what it is, why we’re doing it, when it’s on etc. Make a graphic design poster advertising National Shake out day.

Maths: It’s great to see basic facts improving. Knowing your basic facts really well will help you to solve more challenging maths problems. Practise your ___ times tables everyday this week to make sure you are keeping up with the fast recall. Ask someone at home to sign each day of the week you complete this task.
Writing Activity: Holiday Mahem
Write a story that describes the biggest problem you had on your holildy. It might be that you got caught out in the rain, got lost on a drive, or were stuck in a remote place with not much to do. Plan your story so that it builds up suspense, with a few small events leading up to a big problem. Include descriptive detail that focusses on the main problem and remember to include a range of senses and language features.
Extra: Publish your writing on your blog!
Spelling: Being able to spell commonly used words accurately helps with the flow of ideas during writing. Practise your words everyday this week to make sure you know them. Ask someone at home to sign each day of the week you complete this task.

Ingredients you will need:
-1/2 cup sugar
-2 cups flour
-2 teaspoon baking powder
- Salt a pinch
-Milk add as much as you want around a cup
-Add the eggs with the sugar and stir till combined.
-Then you want to put the flour, baking powder and salt through the sifter.
- Now you can add the milk and stir, add as much milk until you get the consistence you would like.
-For toppings you could add the flowing:
-Jam any type
-Bananas and lots more.
